Shrieval visit to Worcestershire Breast Unit Haven based at Worcester Royal Hospital. Picture with Steven Thrush, breast consultant surgeon, Trustee and the moving force who had the vision to build the unit, and to raise £1.8m to do so. WBU is a charity supporting the women and men of Worcestershire with their breast care needs, caring for hundreds of patients each year.

Marking the 100th anniversary of the opening of Gheluvelt park by Field Marshall, the Rt Hon Earl French. The Park was created to honour those who lost their lives in the Battle of Gheluvelt, Belgium, on 31 October 1914. At the 2022 ceremony we had a speeches by Lord Lieutenant and by Lady Lucy French (the great granddaughter of Earl French). We also met the mascot for the Worcestershire Foresters Regiment, Private Derby (pictured).

Visit to The Grace Kelly Childhood Cancer Trust. Set up by Dr Jennifer Kelly in memory of her daughter Grace who sadly passed away in 2014. The charity is focussed on raising awareness of childhood cancer, providing financial, practical and emotional support for families. High Sheriff Award to Wyre Forest Nightstop and Mediation and above and beyond lapel pins to the team as well as 2 Nightstop hosts who during the pandemic provided a home for a young care leaver for many months.
I also made a surprise Award to Founder Denise Carson who has given so much time and dedication to this charity.

Worcester Mela organised a ceremony at Alexandra Hospital, Redditch to honour the members of Worcestershire NHS BAME staff and patients who lost their lives in the pandemic. This included the unveiling of a carving.

Batchley Support Group in Redditch under the leadership of Mark Barron. BSG help local people. They are well known for their Community Pantry (pictured). I gave BSG my Award and a number of extra mile lapel pins to key volunteers.

Thursday Club – which helps 120 young and old people who have learning difficulties. It is celebrating its 40th birthday. Run by Debbie Kyte. The club has no externalll funding and relies on a very modest entrance fee and support from volunteers. I gave the club a High Sheriff Award and extra mile lapel pins.
