Rev. Cannon Richard Wharton

Having spent many years as a music teacher, Richard was ordained in 1998 in Birmingham and worked in several parishes for the first ten years as a priest. He moved into healthcare chaplaincy in 2008 and was Chaplaincy Manager at University Hospitals Birmingham for 5 years until 2022. Richard now serves as the Vicar of Bournville.

 He is married to Catherine, also an Anglican priest, and they have two teenaged children.
